What – When users amend a contract, they now have a choice to either use the base agreement or a previously negotiated and amended contract. Along with the contract version, users can also choose the associations to copy to the amendment.

ICI Application Enhancements
+
Advantages – Maintaining a history of the original agreement and all amendments is now possible. This helps in auditing the changes made to contracts over time.

<span style="color:#008000;">659853 – Upfront chevron view for agreement journey</span>
+
How – Options to choose the amendment and copy associations to the amendment are now available when creating an amendment. Users can associate and inherit documents such as NDA, SOW, etc.

In ICI, as per the contracting business paradigm, an agreement entity goes through different workflows and stages starting from authoring to execution, and expiration or termination.&nbsp;<br/> Users can view the current status of an agreement on the Agreement Index or Details page, a generic progress view on the Team tab, and logged audit details on the History tab. To understand the progress of the agreement and find relevant information, the user needs to navigate through multiple tabs.&nbsp;<br/> With this release, a horizontal chevron has been introduced, which is a visual depiction of the agreement’s journey that provides a simple, upfront and consolidated view of the agreement’s lifespan. The 4 stages of the chevron prominently communicate an entity’s journey including the previous, current and possible future states of the agreement. This considerably improves usability for new and existing users as they can now find information easily and with minimum clicks.

The colors of the chevron are indicative of the stage of the agreement. It displays the following 4 tabs corresponding to the various stages of the agreement’s journey:
+
Send multiple agreements packaged in a single envelope for electronic signature
1.&nbsp;Generate: Displays the list of actions taken by the user on the agreement before it is published.
+
What – Earlier, agreement could be bundled only with its associations and sent for electronic signature. With this release you can also bundle peer agreements in a single package for electronic signing.

2. Approve:&nbsp;Displays the list of approvers as per the defined steps in the agreement, users that have approved the agreement, users with pending approval actions and for how long it has been pending with them.&nbsp;
+
Advantages – Eliminates the need to send one agreement at a time for signature, thereby saving time. Provisions setting a sequence in which the agreements must be signed and facilitates reordering if required.

ICI Administrators can now:
+
How - Existing Esign functionality is enhanced to package peer agreements as a single bundle and send it for electronic signature.

*Choose to add global favorites to Entity Details page for specific users to view them in the associated parent or peer entity's Details page.&nbsp;

+
Quickly create and edit contract types in bulk using excel workbook
*The global favorites will always be appended at the end for a user per entity type.
+
*If 4 favorites for an entity already exist, then the global favorite is added at the bottom of the saved search drop-down.
+

&nbsp;
+
What – ICI now allows its users to edit and create contract types in bulk using the Microsoft Excel workbook. User can also edit multiple attributes for multiple contract types at once.

<span style="color:#008000;">625385 – Displaying search results by relevance</span>
+
Advantages

The ICI search functionality on the Home and Advanced Search pages has been entirely revamped to provide a better, more user-friendly experience. In previous versions, the results were displayed in the descending order of last modified record. While the previous order helped users to find latest records based on the search term entered, they will now be able to find entries that are exact and/or close matches specific to their query.
+
Contract type (CT) changes happen frequently in the implementation phase, the feedbacks from the customers regarding the changes in the CT have to be earlier implemented one by one for each CT in ICI UI. Now, this changes and edits can be done in one go using this feature.

Users can now view relevant records on the very first page of the results. The results are displayed in the descending order of relevance to the term or keyword entered by the user in the search box.&nbsp;<br/> <br/> With this release:
+
Creating and editing multiple contract types at once will reduce time involved in configuring large contract types.

*Search results are displayed in order of relevance to the entered search query, with the best match(es) appearing as the top-most or most relevant result(s).
+
How
*The top 10 most relevant search results will be displayed in the drop-down on the Home page, along with a View All Results link which redirects the user to the results details page for a more comprehensive view.
+
*Search results are made more meaningful to the user by displaying whether the keywords/terms have been found in full text or attributes.
+
*Entered keywords/terms are highlighted in the search results to provide the user with a context.
+
*The occurrence of the search term is matched against both – the document as well as attributes of a record, giving more options to the user.
+
*Hovering over the results displays details such as Created By, Created Date and Status about the entity. The details to be displayed can be changed through a technical configuration.<br/> &nbsp;
+

Note:
+
A button “Bulk Contract Type” is now added under “Configure” tile.

*On the Home page search result, the fields of types Currency and Date (or DateTime) are not as per the preferences of logged in user.
+
Users can generate pre-seeded contract type workbook, with 2 tabs in excel, contact type, and contract type attributes.
*On the Home page, clicking the Search icon without entering a search criterion directs the user to the Advanced Search page. The results here are sorted as per the last modified time, however the sorting drop-down displays the text Relevance by default.<br/> &nbsp;

<span style="color:#008000;">551111 – Grouping of actions on index page</span>
+

Earlier, the applicable set of actions available for any entity were represented using icons across ICI. For example, the agreement index page had icons for View Agreement, Preview Document and View Smart Link actions.&nbsp;
+
Value: User Experience<br/> For: Admins | Legal Team | Contract Managers<br/> Feature ID: 1342050

As part of our efforts to continuously improve ICI, multiple new actions are added for an entity over time. Hence, actions are now grouped together to improve the usability and user experience. &nbsp;<br/> &nbsp;

<span style="color:#008000;">568718 – Additional Click to Sign signature option available for agreements</span><br/> ICI already supports electronic and manual signatures. With this release, a Click to Sign signature process is introduced where the signatory can preview the agreement and indicate acceptance to the terms in the agreement. &nbsp;
+
Rules functionality added to Icertis Experience for Word
If the signatory checks the box accompanying the footnote in the Preview window, and accepts the terms and conditions in the agreement, it is used to mark the agreement as accepted and signed by the signatory. The signatory also has the usual option of rejecting to sign the agreement, with the agreement going back to the Draft state.&nbsp;
+
What – Users can now create rules for assembling the clause and define the rules for selecting the template from within Microsoft Word to display clauses in agreements based on specified conditions. Existing rules can also be viewed or edited from Microsoft Word.

ICI Administrators who are authorized to create contract types can now add Click to Sign as an option in the signature type attribute to make this signature flow available for contracts of that type.&nbsp;
+
Advantages – Provides a familiar and intuitive interface for legal teams and contract authors to create conditional agreement templates.

<span style="color:#008000;">551119 – Ability to copy and create existing commitments</span>
+
Reduced turnaround time, instead of switching while creating the clause and template

With this release, users now have the capability to copy an existing commitment and create new commitments from it with the provision to exclude certain attributes from being copied. This will considerably reduce time and effort required to create individual commitments.
+
How – Users can define conditions for selecting a clause or template while assembling of clauses and selection of templates from Microsoft Word.

<span style="color:#008000;">572764 Ability to scan files for viruses when uploading to ICI</span>
+
Outlook Add-in Labeling and validation for emails added to ICI
With this release, ICI has added a generic virus scan framework which can be used to implement other virus scanning software. When configured, this will help to scan files for any malware and protect ICI against a wide variety of threats whenever a user uploads a file using the File Upload attribute in ICI or a file is uploaded through an API. The users will be notified with the details of the scan status by a popup window during the creation flow if any malicious content found during the scan.&nbsp;
+
What – Every email uploaded in ICI will now display an Outlook category label, that helps users know if the email is already added in ICI. Additionally, a validation is also displayed if user tries uploading same emails twice. Users can customize the outlook category label as per the needs.

Users can now:
+
Advantages – Avoid uploading duplicate email conversations in ICI.

*Scan all supported file formats by default during upload.
+
How – This feature is available as part of Icertis Experience for Outlook.
*Scan files in bulk.

Revamping ICI Salesforce User Experience
<div class="image-green-border"></div>
+
&nbsp;
+

<span style="color:#008000;">574087 – Ability to add auto-attachments as associations via event rule</span>
+
What – Revamping the ICI Salesforce user interface to give a better user experience, with addition of features and enhancement under agreement related sub tabs.

As part of the RFQ creation process, users need to add several documents as mandatory attachments to RFQs that may not change frequently. Previously, users had to attach multiple such documents manually to every RFQ which was a tedious and time-consuming process.
+
The following agreement sub tabs can now be seen with new capabilities:

This process is now simplified by allowing users to attach predefined standard documents automatically to associations based on defined event rules.
+
*Associations sub tab
 +
*Amendment sub tab
 +
*Note sub tab
 +
*Team sub tab
 +
*Collaboration sub tab

Users can now:
+
Some new features include:

*Maintain a repository of standard documents in masterdata.
+
Hyperlink added in the first column of the association list grid navigating to the association details page within ICI Salesforce platform.
*Define the mapping between associations for auto-attachments for agreements.
+
*Define rules and saved search to trigger the auto-attachment process for associations.
+
*Bifurcate auto-attachments from manual attachments when copying an agreement.
+

Note: This is applicable for agreements and amendments.
+
Ability to preview the document from amendments sub tab.

&nbsp;
+
The collaborations tab is now revamped from ICI Iframe to Salesforce native look and feel, with capability to view more messages.

<span style="color:#008000;">572767 – Ability to download all associated documents of expired agreements and amendments</span>
+
Advantages – This revamp will be giving a more consistent and familiar user experience with enhanced look and feel inline with Salesforce native user experience across tabs, subtabs and actions for sales personas.

Earlier in ICI, users could download all the associated documents of an agreement or amendment for all other states but not when the agreement was in the Expired state.&nbsp;<br/> This capability is now also provided for expired agreements and amendments. This considerably improves usability as users no longer need to navigate to the respective Association tab to download the required documents one by one. The Administrator can now define access permissions so that the Download All button is available for authorized users allowing them to easily download all the associated documents of agreements and amendments for reference.&nbsp;
+
How – Below are few screenshots of the revamped ICI Salesforce platform.

Salesforce – Visibility of products and services sold to customers
The Administrator can define access permissions so that the Download All button is available for authorized users allowing them to easily download all the associated documents of agreements and amendments for reference.&nbsp;<br/>
+
What – ICI Salesforce experience users can now view the list of all the products and services sold to the customer under “Agreement Lines” subtab.

<span style="color:#008000;">550178 Enabling search for extended template metadata</span><br/> Earlier in ICI, templates had only predefined metadata such as Name, Clause Code, Clause Group, and so on.&nbsp;
+
Advantages – With visibility to Agreement lines through this feature, Sales Executives will be able to identify Cross-sell, up-sell opportunities to pursue relevant sales, and request amendment to appropriate contract.

To fulfill the requirements of some organizations, ICI provided the capability of extended template attributes to define additional custom metadata/attributes at the template level. However, users were not able to search templates based on these extended template attributes.
+
How – A new subtab “Agreement Lines” is added for account object displaying all the active product and services sold to the customer. The products displayed under agreement line subtab are fetched via ICI saved searches.
 +
<div class="image-green-border"></div>
 +
Note: The “Agreement Lines” displays only active products and services from executed contracts.

Now, users can search and retrieve required templates using these extended attributes as search parameters in the global search, advanced search and faceted search on the template index page.

Enhancements – Mobile App Experience
<span style="color:#008000;">569901 – Ability to resize popup windows</span><br/> Previously, popup windows within ICI had a fixed size and were static, which enabled users to only view information displayed on the popup.
+

Users can now resize and drag User Selection (Grid View), Lookup and Add Association popup windows. This enables them to get a context of their location in ICI and the content behind the window. Additionally, user-experience is enhanced for smaller popups as they can be expanded on bigger screens.

<span style="color:#008000;">572756 – Ability to exclude auto-attached documents from the copied association</span>
+
Enhanced ICI startup validation architecture
ICI allows attaching standard documents from the masterdata repository as associations to the agreement based on the defined event rule on the agreement.
+
What – A new validation framework for configuration keys and related metadata to resolve incorrect or missing keys and ensure seamless startup of ICI instances.

When a user copies the agreement with auto-attached associations, system excludes all auto attached associations from being copied to the new agreement. The auto-attached associations won’t be displayed on the Copy Record window. The resulting agreement will have the selected manual associations and its own auto-attached associations as per the configured rules. This avoids the unnecessary upload of files into the ICI repository and duplication of association records on copied agreement as it will have its own auto-attached documents.
+
Advantages – Timely validation of configuration keys and guardrails to prevent unnecessary startup blockers.

Users can now select auto-attachment associations when an agreement is sent for signature along with the bundled association and download all associations of an agreement in the ZIP format.&nbsp;
+
How – At startup, the validation framework checks for configuration keys that are inconsistent or incorrect and restores those to default values thereby preempting any startup issues. Technical admins can view and investigate the validation logs on the self-service portal.

&nbsp;
+
Value: Reliability, Supportability<br/> For: Administrators<br/> Feature ID: 1373024

<span style="color:#008000;">551117 – Associated document content including table headers in the preferred language</span>
+
Configure E-Signature Integrations within ICI
Earlier in ICI, if the language preference was English and the user created an agreement using a French language template that had an association as a table, then the buyer could create the association instance and assemble the contract. However, the language for the entire assembled document would be French , but the association table header (title) would be in English.&nbsp;
+
What – E- signature configurations can now be done inside the Icertis Contract Intelligence platform by technical administrators.

This functionality has been improved so that the table header also appears in the same language as the remaining text in the template. In the example above, the entire assembled document as well as the association table header would be in French.
+
Advantages – This reduces cross-team dependencies and increases the speed of implementation as a user with technical expertise can perform the configuration without intervention from the Icertis team.&nbsp;
<div class="image-green-border"></div>

<span style="color:#008000;">572768 – Display internal and external reviewer roles based on user type</span>
+
How – Technical administrators can configure E- sign providers (DocuSign and AdobeSign) from the E-sign configuration page.
 +
<div class="image-green-border"></div>
 +
Value: Self-service<br/> For: Technical admins<br/> Feature ID: 1180879

The Request Review functionality in ICI allows users to request their agreements to be reviewed. Before sending an agreement for approval or signature, the contract author can leverage this option and add a user or user group as reviewer. &nbsp;
+
Integrated Config keys validation framework
Previously, if the selected reviewer was an internal user, or a user group of internal users exclusively, then the team role/user role was depicted as External Reviewer in the Team and the History tabs respectively, on the agreement details page. &nbsp; &nbsp;
+
What – ICI now has the capability to check incorrect values, difference in data types, and inconsistency in configuration data. The utility can be run prior to starting an application and the report and errors reported can be used to help find a solution.

With this release:&nbsp;
+
Advantages – Helps prevent issues that occur during application startup.

*An internal user added as a reviewer will be displayed as internal reviewer.&nbsp;
+
How – At the start of an ICI instance, the disparity in the configuration keys is identified, and the incorrect keys are set to the default value. All such changes are recorded in the self-service portal so that the technical admins can investigate the errors.
*An external user added as a reviewer will continue to be displayed as external reviewer.&nbsp;
+
*User group containing all internal users are displayed as internal reviewer and user group with external users are displayed as external reviewer.

Configure SSO integrations within ICI
<span style="color:#008000;">568773 – Ability to create and send agreements for approval during bulk creation&nbsp;</span><br/> ICI allows contract authors to create multiple agreements from a single agreement with the provision of copying associations and attributes as required. Previously, these agreements created in bulk would be in Draft status. In order to send the bulk created agreements for approval, users had to either do it individually for each agreement or had to configure a saved search and perform bulk action on it.
+
What – SSO configurations can now be done inside the Icertis Contract Intelligence platform by technical administrators.

With this release, this feature has been enhanced with an option at configuration level to define if these agreements are to be published or created and sent for approval as part of the creation process.&nbsp;A choice-type attribute Target Workflow Action has been added in the existing bulk configuration masterdata contract type. Administrators can now specify whether bulk created agreements should be sent for approval or not.&nbsp;
+
Advantages – This reduces cross-team dependencies and increases the speed of implementation as a user with technical expertise can perform the configuration without intervention from the Icertis team.&nbsp;

When the Target Workflow Action attribute is set to Create and Send for Approval and bulk agreements are generated on the model agreement&nbsp;:&nbsp;
+
How – Technical administrators can configure SSO integrations (SAML, WS-Fed and O-Auth) from the SSO configuration page.

*Agreements will be sent for approval to the approver(s), and the agreement status will be updated to Waiting for Approval.
+
*If no approver is present in the agreement’s team, the agreement will be approved automatically and its status will be updated as Approved.
+

By default, the agreements would be created in Draft status. Amendments can also be sent for bulk approval using the same functionality. Users can also decide whether the templates for bulk created agreements would be different or same as the model agreement during the bulk creation process.&nbsp;
+
What – In a multitenant instance of Icertis Contract Intelligence, SSO configurations are now moved from a single configuration file to separate configuration files for each tenant. These configurations can now also be modified from within Icertis Contract Intelligence.

A boolean attribute Enable Template ReEvaluation is added in existing bulk configuration masterdata contract type.&nbsp;
+
Advantages –

*When Enable Template ReEvaluation attribute flag is set to Yes, the Template Selection rules will be re-evaluated, and the first template from the list will be used for creating bulk agreements. The template can be different or same as the model agreement depending on the configured rules.&nbsp;
+
*Site reliability and stability - SSO issues affecting one tenant do not impact other tenants.
*When the Enable Template ReEvaluation flag is set to No, the template used for bulk created and model agreements will be the same.
+
*Self-service - Technical admin users can configure SSO without intervention from Icertis teams.

Any Template Selection rule configured for bulk creation will not be evaluated if Enable Template ReEvaluation value is No.<br/> &nbsp;
+
How – Users with the right permissions can make SSO configuration changes from the Tenant.config file. The changes can also be made from within ICI by Technical Admin users.

Error-handling framework
Users can control:
+
What – A centralized and industry-standard error handling framework for faster troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of issues. The list of error codes and related data is cataloged & documented, which will act as a standard reference for all error codes in the ICI platform.

*The agreement actions such as Compare Documents, Compare Clause Changes, Broadcast, and so on.
+
The framework provides the following features:
*Creation and disassociation of associated documents from an agreement.&nbsp;
+
*Linking and disassociation of peer associations from an agreement.
+

Note: The visibility of the individual reports available on the agreement details page through technical configuration.<br/> &nbsp;
+
Detailed and structured data to determine severity, origin, module, area & source of the error.

<span style="color:#008000;">572781 – Ability to copy existing agreement from the agreement index page</span>
+
No unhandled exceptions emanating from the system.

Previously, ICI supported the copy existing agreement functionality from the agreement details page. Now, the same functionality has been added on the agreement index page for better usability so that users can perform the copy action without having to navigate into the individual agreement details page.
+
Detailed logging is done in a central repository like Kibana.

Authorized users can now click the Copy Record icon on the agreement index page to copy it for creating a similar agreement.&nbsp;
+
For ICI Instances where AppInsights is available, a correlation id helps to track calls and correlate the complete chain of events that led to the error.

Along with the agreement, users now also have the ability to select any associated documents (parent-child or peer associations), commitments or obligations to be copied; where the Allow Copy with Association attribute flag is set to True at the contract type level. If the association flag is set to False, a validation is displayed.
+
Why – Eliminates time required to locate and understand the issue and reduces the overall time needed to fix issues.

<span style="color:#008000;">551122 – Localization support for clauses into templates</span>
+
360-degree supplier performance score card about different evaluations, KPI and performance trend over a time period.

Previously in ICI, there was no provision to have localization of clauses that could be used to create agreements in different languages. Hence, users had to create multiple templates to be able to create agreements in different languages.
+
Capture supplier documents/ certificates that are expired or expiring within 5 days.

With this release, users can store the localized version of clauses and enable them when authoring and executing agreements. So, users can configure the template with localized clauses that can be used to create a localized agreement. This considerably reduces the efforts of creating and managing multiple templates to support different languages.
+
Advantages –

&nbsp;
+

<span style="color:#008000;">645417 – Ability to create agreement with latest approved version while using Copy Agreement functionality</span>
+
API Management Service
Previously in ICI, the existing agreement’s template version was used to create a copy during Copy Record process even if the updated latest template was available in the system.
+
What – API management is a key infrastructure of API offering working as a façade and controlling layer for use of ICI APIs. It consists of—a gateway which controls the flow of APIs from the integrating application to ICI API server, a management portal to configure the usage policies and an information portal called API Hub.

With this release, the source agreement’s latest approved template will be selected by default to create the copy.
+
With the API Management, the following is possible for customers:

&nbsp;
+
*Enforcing usage quota limit
 +
*Rate limiting (throughput throttling) of API calls (by default set to 5 API calls per min)
 +
*Monitoring and getting reports on usage of APIs

<span style="color:#008000;">547854 Ability to implement bulk association to support large volume data of associations</span><br/> The bulk associations capability has enabled ICI to handle large number of associations in the tune of thousands, by presenting itself as a lightweight association as well as tremendously improving performance.&nbsp;
+
How – All customers using Icertis APIs can use the APIM gateway URLs as API URLs. For new customers, the APIs are automatically routed through APIM. For the existing customers that are already using APIs, they must make a configuration change to connect to APIM. The Icertis team will provide the exact API gateway URLs.

The bulk association configuration has now been simplified by providing a Enable Bulk Processing flag at contract type definition level which triggers a set of defaults that has been intentionally restricted. The end user experience for the bulk association has not changed from the way that the conventional association is handled from the UI, rather the underlying data structure has been further enhanced to make it go the distance.&nbsp;
+
Note: The API Hub capability where users can get the information about APIs, try out the endpoints and get API usage reports is described as a separate feature below in the release notes.

Performance has been the key while introducing and designing this new association, which has given way to the new type of instance, namely the Proxy Instance, which is retrieved in every GET call. The actual instances are referred by using this proxy instance, thereby reducing the load on the GET APIs. Specialized GET and SET APIs have also been introduced for bulk associations to improve its adaptability and ease-of-use.
+
For: API Developers | Administrators<br/> Feature ID: 1182735

Bulk associations have very effectively consumed the Elastic Search Bulk API to sync a large set of data at one go, rather than the traditional way of one instance at a time, adding to the boost in performance.
+
Icertis API Hub–A New Developer Experience for Working with APIs
Bulk association is tweaked to be able to address the large data situation that Sourcing apps require, including:
+
What – The new Icertis API Developer Experience is simple, secure, and immersive for the developers.

*Disabling the workflow.&nbsp;
+
As an API developer, the new Icertis API Developer Experience allows you to discover and interact with the ICI APIs. Developers can find recommendations for making API requests, inputs for each endpoint, and authentication methods. Based on the subscription key, the developers can make API calls for the API products.
*Restricting the system associations to just team.&nbsp;
+
*Restricting document assembly.&nbsp;
+
*Simplifying the association team by maintaining team at proxy level to use access level as ALL or NONE, using a layer over the existing robust ICI authorization.&nbsp;
+
*Restricting indexing of bulk associations attributes in the parent, which can be achieved through a technical configuration.&nbsp;

Microsoft Intune is a scalable cloud service architecture that leverages cloud for insights and baselines for our security policies and configuration settings. It helps safeguard data that is not managed by ICI and used by employees, customers or partners to access work files.
+
Framework for the composite API
The key benefits of making ICI MS Intune-compatible include:&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;
+
What – This release introduces “Single Response – Composite APIs” to eliminate creation of wrappers over ICI Platform’s APIs while using them.

*Protecting company data at the App level, for both – managed and unmanaged devices, as the management is based on user identity.
+
The Composite API Framework supports the following features:
*Ensuring App layer protections are in place. For example:&nbsp;
+
**Entering a pin to open the App in work context
+
**Controlling the sharing of data between Apps
+
**Preventing the saving of company App data to a personal storage location
+
*Supporting Mobile Device Management (MDM) in addition to MAM ensuring device protection and control over App management. For example:
+
**Entering a pin to access the device
+
**Deploying managed apps to the device
+
**Deploying apps to devices through your MDM solution
+
*Using App protection policies, with or without MDM, at the same time. For example, you may choose to use a company issued phone with both – MDM and App protection policies, whereas, a personal phone may be protected by only the App protection policies.
+
*Applying a MAM policy to the user without setting the device state. The user will get the MAM policy on both - the BYOD (bring-your-own-devices) and the Intune-managed device. You can also apply the MAM policy based on the managed state.
+

Note: The policies do not apply when using the App in personal context and does not affect end-user productivity.&nbsp;
+
API endpoint for supporting composite structure

ICI Administrators can configure the ICI mobile application as a managed App using Intune configuration policies. To avail the benefits of Intune MAM settings, users have to download the ICI application from the Intune store set by the ICI Administrator and set company portal policies on their mobile phones.
+
Request and Response representation

Administrators can now:
+
Validation framework for composition

*Enroll the device in Microsoft Intune.
+
Orchestration logic for composite requests
*Configure the access privileges for users and user groups for ICI Mobile application using Microsoft Intune policies.
+
*Pre-configure the system URL so that users do not need to enter it every time.

+
What – AI-discovered obligations are automatically categorized in a category and sub-category when presented for review and confirmation. When reviewing discovered obligations users can now refer to existing obligations in approved state belonging to the same category, sub-category and related agreements. Changing the category and sub-category, displays the relevant set of approved obligations.

Previously, tasks related to template and clause management could be managed using Icertis Experience for Word. However, to manage agreement workflow related tasks, users had to switch to ICI Web.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
+
Advantages –

Now, users can directly perform agreement actions such as Send for Approval, Approve, Reject, andRecall from Icertis Experience for Word itself, instead of navigating to ICI Web.
+
Referring Library Obligations can help you get a standard position/scope/language to be used while setting up a newly discovered obligation

510546 – Establishing a contract lineage using AI<br/> Contracts go through multiple transformations over a period of time. During the contract negotiations, multiple attributes and clauses get added or changed. Team members, statuses, commitments and associations also get added, updated or removed. Even after the contract is executed, many addendums get added subsequently; or multiple clauses get replaced with new ones in the amendments, and so on. With such a high number of transformations, it is difficult to keep track of which clause or attribute is in force for a contract.&nbsp;

<span style="color:#008000;">575397 – Improved AI discovery model</span>
+
The 8.2 Release introduces enhancements to the Icertis Contract Intelligence (ICI) Sourcing Application.

ICI’s existing discovery model discovers 14 attributes and more than 40 clauses from MSA, NDA or SoW type of agreement documents.&nbsp;<br/> With this release, the process of discovering attributes and clauses has been improved to achieve better accuracy by training the in-built discovery model with a wide variety of agreements.&nbsp;
+
Converting RFI to RFP or RFQ
The existing ObligationAI model has been enhanced to discover the obligations in a more robust and accurate manner.<br/> <br/> Key highlights of this feature are:&nbsp;
+
What – ICI Sourcing application now allows creating an RFP or RFQ from an RFI from which the suppliers are shortlisted. Users can create multiple RFP’s or RFQ’s from a single RFI.&nbsp;

*The overall discovery accuracy of out-of-the-box attributes has been improved by more than 15%.
+
Advantage – Saves time when creating an RFP or RFQ by allowing shortlisted suppliers to be selected from a previously completed RFI. &nbsp;
*With the enhanced model, the discovered values of out-of-the-box attributes such as payment terms, notice period for termination, auto renewal, evergreen agreement, compliance standard mentioned in agreement, contract value, etc. are near perfect.
+
*ObligationAI model is improved to identify following types of obligations out-of-the-box:
+
**Contract deliverables, compliance and audit, performance related obligations, project prerequisites and assumptions, incident management, contract governance, payouts and invoicing as well as contract termination.
+
<div class="image-green-border">&nbsp;</div> <div class="image-green-border"><span style="color:#008000;">602198 – Support for user created attributes in NLP search</span></div>
+
In the previous release, the ICI AI-enabled mode of searching supported querying on system and seeded attributes using a spoken language statement.
+

With this release, the functionality has been enhanced to support user defined attributes as well. For example, queries such as “contracts in region as EMEA” would fetch the correct results even if “region” is a display name of a user defined attribute. In addition to this, NLP search is also enhanced to consider string operators such as “starts with” and “contains”, for example, “contracts where supplier name starts with Adobe”.<br/> &nbsp;
+
How – Users can use the “Create from RFI” button from the Sourcing index page or from the Create RFP/RFQ option on the RFI that is in “Bidding Closed” state.

<span style="color:#008000;">575399 – UX revamp to display discovered attributes and original document side-by-side</span>
+
Value: User Experience<br/> Feature ID: 1328960&nbsp;&nbsp;

Previously, contract negotiators had to periodically visit the AI discovery section to check for discovery completion. Then, they had to switch to the Document View in order to review the recommendations given by the AI algorithm.
+
Shortlist Suppliers in RFx
With this release, when contract negotiators trigger the discovery process, they can readily view the progress of AI discovery within the agreement details page.
+
What – An enhancement has been made to the existing Shortlist feature that allows buyers to select and shortlist specific suppliers for the next procurement stage. For example, from RFI to RFP or RFQ or from one round to another in the same RFX. The supplier Shortlist can be modified in certain RFx statuses.

When the discovery for one of the entities is complete, contract negotiators will now have an option to launch an interface in a new tab/window where the discovered clauses, attributes, tables and obligations are displayed alongside the agreement document. On clicking any of the discovered entities, the system automatically scrolls to the page where that entity is present in the document.
+
Advantage – Helps accessing preferred suppliers quickly or remove them from the “Suppliers” page thereby saving time.
<div class="image-green-border"></div> <div class="image-green-border">&nbsp;</div>
+
<span style="color:#008000;">575455 – Improved discovery process performance and parallel processing of multiple documents</span>
+

Previously, upon receiving multiple requests, the AI discovery model added them in a queue form and processed each document sequentially. The time taken to complete the discovery of documents was also considerably high.
+
How – A “Shortlist Supplier” option is added on the “Suppliers” page. &nbsp;
 +
<div class="image-green-border"></div>

Value: User Experience<br/> For: Buyer and Administrator users<br/> Feature ID: 1341682&nbsp;&nbsp;

With this release, the discovery performance has been enhanced such that multiple documents can be processed simultaneously and within lesser time. Users can now start the discovery process for their document without waiting for other discovery processes to complete. A total of 20 documents can now be processed in parallel.
+
Sourcing Enhancements
The duration of document discovery has now been significantly reduced. On an average, the time taken to complete the discovery process of a typical contract has been improved by more than 100%. For very large contracts with 100+ pages, the discovery performance has been improved by over 500%.

The 8.2 Release introduces enhancements to the Icertis Contract Intelligence (ICI) Obligation Management Application

<span style="color:#008000;">570314 – All core SSRS reports to only include contract types classified as Contracting</span>
+
Auto-create Obligations from Associations data
ICI offers the functionality to classify Business Application Type/ Contracting agreement type at contract type level. With this release, core reports will be limited to Contracting business&nbsp;application type.
+
What – ICI Platform now facilitates improved Obligation intake from source Association records. An Obligation is automatically created from any defined associations such as Deliverables, SLA, Risk Assessments. For example, if a SOW has ‘Deliverable’ as an association, then the user can directly convert that deliverable into an Obligation.
<div class="image-green-border"></div> <div class="image-green-border">&nbsp;</div> <div class="image-green-border">
+
Users with access to standard and insights reports will only be able to see data related to agreements with Contracting business application type. Thus, the reporting data would not contain any sourcing agreements.
+

This is applicable to the following reports - Agreement Clause Content Report, Agreement Deviation Report, Agreement Pending Approval Report, Agreement Pending Execution Report, Approved Request Waiting for Contract Creation Report, Average Agreement Turnaround Time Report, Clause Deviations Report, Clause Profiling Report, CLM Activity Report, Cycle Time Report, Detailed Report, Expired Agreement Report, Expiring Agreement Report, Signature Type Report, Template Clause Report, Analytics Deviation Insights Report, Analytics Deviation Insights Report – KnowMore and Analytics Clause Insights Report.
+
Advantages – Streamlines and simplifies creation of Delivery Dates, Milestones, SLAs, Risk Assessments, and other obligations from associated records, improving process efficiency. Auto-creation of Obligations enhances tracking compliance centrally using Obligation Management.

Only contracting reports are shown in the Contract Type filter.

<span style="color:#008000;">567137 – Ability to add datasets for associated documents in Power BI for obligation and management</span>
+
Use “Date” & “DateTime” Attributes from Holding Agreement for Obligation Scheduling
In order to have a comprehensive view of the state of obligation, compliance users needed to have self-serve ways to build reports and dashboards. Users have now been given the flexibility to build reports on obligation compliance across hierarches – from agreements and obligations to fulfillments and fulfillment evidences.&nbsp;
+
What – Duedates and end dates for obligations can now be selected from any of the date attributes of the agreement.

<br/> With this release, users have the option of slice and dice for viewing and narrowing down to the right type of obligations for any given context. Advanced analytics with Power BI is the ICI offering to let customers create and view custom reports. Users will now have Obligation Management application datasets for agreement, obligation and fulfillment entities in the Power BI data model as well.&nbsp;
+
Advantages

With the additional data sets, users will be able to generate reports on Power BI such as for:
+
Eliminates the need for an Obligation creator to know specific dates.

*The aggregate fulfillment status for a given obligation, especially for recurring fulfillments.
+
Consistency in Obligation dates used across various members / obligation creators
*Number of days it took for a fulfillment cycle, which is for an obligation or fulfillment to move from created to approved state.

<span style="color:#008000;">657965 – Support for Service Principal Authentication method for Power BI</span>
+
Reduces the extra effort required in referring to Date Attributes of holding agreement entity (for example, Effective Date / Expiry Date) and use them in Obligation creation.

+
ICI has now extended support for Service Principal Authentication method to authenticate Power BI resources for advanced analytics. It has been implemented as the default method of Power BI authentication for improved security. However, the option to continue with the current authentication method of using user credentials for Power BI is still available.
+

 +
How – Two new attributes have been added to the Obligation Contract Type – “Select Due Date From” and “Select End Date From”. You can select a specific date value from the given options. The date value selected will be as per the actual date defined in the Agreement. For example, if you select “Expiry Date” value, an Obligation will be created with an expiry date that is same as the expiry date for the Agreement.

&nbsp;
+
Buyers update the Supplier Master the information is synced with the Supplier Profile.

<span style="color:#008000;">601540 - Deprecating Template Clause Report as dashboard KPI</span><br/> With this release, the Template Clause Report will only be accessible from the Reports tile. It has been deprecated as dashboard KPI as it only identified the average number of clauses per template across ICI and displayed a single number on the dashboard. The performance slowed down the dashboard loading process as the KPI involved calculation and aggregation of data.
+
Buyers update the Supplier Profile the information is synced with Supplier Master.

&nbsp;
+
Advantage – Supplier records are consistent and can be consumed across all Icertis applications.

Integrations
+
How – If a supplier record in the database is modified depending on the conditions defined, the other relevant records also get updated automatically.&nbsp;

+

*Create associations to an existing agreement or RFx record in ICI. Users will thus be able to manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, sourcing events and similar tasks by sending associated data.
+
*Update amendments to an agreement on the created, updated, approved and executed actions.&nbsp;
+
*Add and update team information for agreements and contract requests via ASB.
+
*Validate mandatory attribute fields for masterdata, agreements, contract requests or amendments.
+

&nbsp;

&nbsp;

<span style="color:#008000;">594454 – Support for JSON files and Blob connectors</span><br/> Previously, CSV files were supported for masterdata upload using ASB and SFTP, whereas text-based files were supported for uploads using SFTP.&nbsp;
+
Rebates Enhancements
With this release, the file-based integration will additionally support JSON file format, while also supporting Blob connectors. Additionally, a new attribute Post Process Log has been added, which indicates the Service Bus topic to which the payload will be moved after its processing.&nbsp;
+
Rebates App in ICI Platform is enhanced to improve the usability and thereby improve the overall user experience, scalability and robust calculations. The Rebates App extends support for Big Data, AI, and Dynamic JSON. The enhancements in Rebates App can be summarized as below:

In addition to post process logs, persistent logs have also been introduced in the ICI database for all processing failures. These logs will be used for reporting purposes.
+
Refined seeded data model:

&nbsp;
+
*Minimal configuration and data reusability to make Rebates app more scalable.
 +
*Standardized naming conventions to avoid any conflicts with other apps.
 +
*Normalized data has improved Calculation Engine’s efficiency by 50%.
 +
*Dynamic JSON for Rebate program data eliminates the need to have distinct rebates and payout calculation for every business unit in an organization. The enhanced calculation engine extracts JSON data from the Agreement and its associated documents and maps it with the newly configured attributes.
 +
*Background tasks optimized to support big data such as calculation engine processing large invoice and agreement datasets. As an example, for performance testing, it took 35 seconds (approximately) to process 170,000 &nbsp;records (approximately) as compared to 1 minute (approximately) for 5000 records (approximately) in the earlier version.
 +
*Rebate program attributes are a part of associated document instead of an agreement, which enables handling multiple rebate programs within a contract. This also reduces the number of attributes in an agreement, that improves the performance of agreement creation.
 +
*Standardized attributes management by allowing 16-digit numbers with 6 decimal places.
 +
*Generic Product, Location, and Customer hierarchies allow customizing configuration and mapping it to the calculation engine.
 +
*Previously, configuration supported only up to 10 customer details as these details were part of the Agreement itself. However, now these details are migrated as Associated documents to support unlimited customer details.

<span style="color:#008000;">554864/554868 – Support for request review and upload actions in Salesforce grid</span><br/> Previously, ICI users could manage and execute contract management tasks using Salesforce Classic and Lightning user interface. The Icertis Experience for Salesforce introduced support for the following actions at the grid level - Assemble, Download and Send for Approval.&nbsp;
+
Power BI Reporting:

With this release, support has been extended for the Send for Review and Upload document actions, thus considerably improving usability. The action buttons displayed on the user interface are based on the privileges assigned to the user via role action mapping in ICI . The agreement can be sent for review to multiple users by selecting the users from the available list.
+
*Intuitive dashboard with advanced analytics on the rebate agreement distribution and accruals accumulation.
 +
*Out-of-the-box reports added in Power BI, which were earlier focused on Accruals, are now aligned with the overall performance of Rebates.
 +
*Improved visibility for Rebates payout calendar with the next payout dates.

Note: If a user wants to view or edit a contract record, they will still have to double-click the contract record which will open the contract details page in Salesforce.&nbsp;

Microsoft retiring basic authentication for SMTP
Previously, Salesforce users could manage all internal and external tasks within Salesforce itself, but not ICI tasks.&nbsp;
+
What – Microsoft is retiring basic authentication for SMTP, and it would be necessary for customers using basic authentication to move to an alternate service. ICI now supports modern authentication with support for Microsoft Graph API.

With this release, Salesforce users can now manage ICI tasks from within Salesforce. ICI Administrators can configure ICI task integration with Salesforce so that the tasks created in ICI are pushed to Salesforce. This allows users to view task details with attributes such as Task Name, Status, Priority, Due Date within Salesforce itself.
+
Why – Provide support for modern authentication methods & ensure service continuity even after Microsoft retires basic authentication later this year (Oct 1, 2022).

&nbsp;
+
How – The config key "Platform.Email.ProviderConfiguration" with Provider and Configuration values (JSON) will need to be updated to support this feature. User can choose between following providers SMTP/EWS/Mailkit/Microsoft Graph.

The invited signatories receive an email notification with a link to the document to review and sign, or decline to sign, or to delegate the action. The agreement will be executed once the document is signed electronically by all the involved signatories.&nbsp;&nbsp;
+
Microsoft retiring Outlook REST API
Contract administrators can track the status of the agreements sent for signature within ICI. They can also recall the agreement sent for signature, if it was not signed by all parties.
+
What: The Icertis Outlook Add-In that currently uses the Outlook REST API will now use Microsoft Graph API.

APIs

API Management Service

What – API management is a key infrastructure of API offering working as a façade and controlling layer for use of ICI APIs. It consists of—a gateway which controls the flow of APIs from the integrating application to ICI API server, a management portal to configure the usage policies and an information portal called API Hub.

With the API Management, the following is possible for customers:

 • Enforcing usage quota limit
 • Rate limiting (throughput throttling) of API calls (by default set to 5 API calls per min)
 • Monitoring and getting reports on usage of APIs

How – All customers using Icertis APIs can use the APIM gateway URLs as API URLs. For new customers, the APIs are automatically routed through APIM. For the existing customers that are already using APIs, they must make a configuration change to connect to APIM. The Icertis team will provide the exact API gateway URLs.

Note: The API Hub capability where users can get the information about APIs, try out the endpoints and get API usage reports is described as a separate feature below in the release notes.

Auto-create Obligations from Associations data

What – ICI Platform now facilitates improved Obligation intake from source Association records. An Obligation is automatically created from any defined associations such as Deliverables, SLA, Risk Assessments. For example, if a SOW has ‘Deliverable’ as an association, then the user can directly convert that deliverable into an Obligation.

Advantages – Streamlines and simplifies creation of Delivery Dates, Milestones, SLAs, Risk Assessments, and other obligations from associated records, improving process efficiency. Auto-creation of Obligations enhances tracking compliance centrally using Obligation Management.

How – You can use the “Create Obligation” menu option from the Associations object list view or details page.

What – Duedates and end dates for obligations can now be selected from any of the date attributes of the agreement.

Advantages

Eliminates the need for an Obligation creator to know specific dates.

Consistency in Obligation dates used across various members / obligation creators

Reduces the extra effort required in referring to Date Attributes of holding agreement entity (for example, Effective Date / Expiry Date) and use them in Obligation creation.

Rebates Enhancements

Rebates App in ICI Platform is enhanced to improve the usability and thereby improve the overall user experience, scalability and robust calculations. The Rebates App extends support for Big Data, AI, and Dynamic JSON. The enhancements in Rebates App can be summarized as below:

Refined seeded data model:

 • Minimal configuration and data reusability to make Rebates app more scalable.
 • Standardized naming conventions to avoid any conflicts with other apps.
 • Normalized data has improved Calculation Engine’s efficiency by 50%.
 • Dynamic JSON for Rebate program data eliminates the need to have distinct rebates and payout calculation for every business unit in an organization. The enhanced calculation engine extracts JSON data from the Agreement and its associated documents and maps it with the newly configured attributes.
 • Background tasks optimized to support big data such as calculation engine processing large invoice and agreement datasets. As an example, for performance testing, it took 35 seconds (approximately) to process 170,000  records (approximately) as compared to 1 minute (approximately) for 5000 records (approximately) in the earlier version.
 • Rebate program attributes are a part of associated document instead of an agreement, which enables handling multiple rebate programs within a contract. This also reduces the number of attributes in an agreement, that improves the performance of agreement creation.
 • Standardized attributes management by allowing 16-digit numbers with 6 decimal places.
 • Generic Product, Location, and Customer hierarchies allow customizing configuration and mapping it to the calculation engine.
 • Previously, configuration supported only up to 10 customer details as these details were part of the Agreement itself. However, now these details are migrated as Associated documents to support unlimited customer details.

Power BI Reporting:

 • Intuitive dashboard with advanced analytics on the rebate agreement distribution and accruals accumulation.
 • Out-of-the-box reports added in Power BI, which were earlier focused on Accruals, are now aligned with the overall performance of Rebates.
 • Improved visibility for Rebates payout calendar with the next payout dates.
